Our Story

It all started with a stack of perfectly good abandoned fence boards. Leo was studying set design and, disheartened by the industry’s waste, collected and repurposed the wood to give it new life. Meanwhile, Ero, a tiny house builder, was surprised by the lack of consistent, high-quality reclaimed wood when constructing a custom tiny house. Both were dreaming of a business that would transform waste into beauty and they met as if by synchronicity. Their paths aligned and they joined forces to develop beautiful, reliable, truly sustainable products for designers, builders, and homemakers like themselves.

After years supplying to the wholesale wood market, we now offer high quality, finished product direct to customers, architects and designers.

Commensurate to our dedication to sustainability and regenerative design, Ethica Wood® is now certified by Forest Stewardship Council (FSC 100% Recycled) and holds a registered trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office alongside all of our products. Ethica Wood® is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and we are working to attain Living Product Challenge certification, the most stringent of building material certifications.
